But this time, it's a new version of an existing plug-in: slimSEARCH. I have added support for more than 3 search targets, and support for prefixes to the search string to select a search target. Here's what you could see when pressing a slimSEARCH hotkey:
You have two ways of selecting your target search. You can either type your keywords and press the search target's associated trigger key (Alt-{1-9}, Alt-{A-Z}, Enter, Alt-Enter or Ctrl-Enter). In the example above, once I have typed "Desktop Tower Defense", I can press Alt-3 or Ctrl-Enter to search for these keywords on live.com, or press Alt-5 to search on wikipedia.org, or simply Alt-1 or Enter to search on yahoo.com.
That's how I prefer to use slimSEARCH. You type your keywords, then you think about where you want to search. But other similar applications support search prefixes, which determine where the search will occur. This is also supported, granted you press Enter to launch the search. For example, you could type "g Desktop Tower Defense" and press Enter to search for "Desktop Tower Defense" on google.com.
As usual with slimKEYS, everything is customizable:
