I got a strange problem with my desktop computer today, while returning from hibernation. Though the following hotfix did solve a problem (thanks Scott) where my computer coming out from hibernation returned to hibernation when left idle for a minute, it seems it's still a fragile process.
So today, I had my hand on the mouse while the computer was waking up, probably moving it. The login screen briefly appeared, then the computer went idle, turning the monitors off. I shook the mouse a little, nothing. I clicked a button, nothing. I pressed a key, and the computer woke up, but the mouse did not work. I logged in and was greeted by this message:
Hmmm, you want me to click this message to solve my mouse problem? Argh... right... So I fixed it myself without their help, with the number one fix: I rebooted. q;-)
P.S.: This reminds me of a Windows 3.0 bug: if you were moving the mouse while starting Windows, it would hang. Back in those days, there were no live updates, and no hotfixes for ordinary people. So until Windows 3.1 came out, I had to put a sticker on my mouse pad saying "Don't touch me".
