A second beta of the upcoming version 1.1.3 of slimKEYS is now available. This new version will contain many new features and fixes: - New plug-in called slimSMOKE, that dims the whole desktop except the active application. This second beta allows you to highlight not only the active window, but also all other top-level windows belonging to the same process.
- New plug-in called slimSEARCH.FogBugz, that lets you go directly to specific case numbers when you search for a single integer number. It is not active by default, you must add an entry in your search list.
- slimVOLUME now supports Windows Vista. There are known issues with this beta only:
- If you change the output device, for example by plugging-in a USB headset, slimVOLUME continues to change the previous device's volume.
- It will only display the "TV-like bars", because the way the volume is displayed was completely recoded, to have a true transparent window. The label style is on its way, though it will probably change a little.
- Applications and documents can now be opened with a different "verb" than the default "open". If you were looking for a way to run an application as administrator via slimLAUNCH, simply press Ctrl-Enter instead of Enter, and use the "runas" verb in the new verb field at the bottom. You can also select a verb in the drop-down list.
- You can open a password's associated web address and copy the password in the clipboard in a single keystroke from the slimLAUNCH window by pressing Ctrl-Enter. Previously, you had to press Ctrl-A to open the web address, then switch back to slimLAUNCH and press Enter to copy the password.
- slimSIZE can now move windows which belong to isolated or elevated applications on Vista. Did you try moving your Internet Explorer 7 window without any effect? Or another window from an application running as administrator? This should now work.
- slimKEYS now asks for confirmation when starting a second instance of slimKEYS.
- Fixed lost or badly replaced special characters when performing a web search via slimSEARCH
- Fixed lost last launch command when searching for a password via slimLAUNCH.Passwords. The password store was not updated when only the last launch commands changed.
As usual, beta versions are released to gather comments. Do not hesitate to talk about the beta version on the forums.
