  • Re: slimLaunchTHIS

Yes, I should be able to add such a feature. I'll try to find a correct balance between simplicity and features, but this should be supported. Don't expect a new release of slimKEYS before January, though.

  • Re: Quasi Modal

Interesting idea. I'll think about this. Do you find ''Win-Z'' to be too slow to show the window? Or too slow to update the list with matches?

  • Re: Memory Usage

It was on my list for 2008, but I'd lie saying I still believe in a 2008 release, so first half of 2009 is more probable. Now, two important questions on the subject: a) Would it be bad if it targetted only Windows Search 4.0? b) Is it a must that it becomes a slimLAUNCH extension? I may not be able to apply my own name matching algo to Windows ...

  • Re: SlimLAUNCH.FileSystem always adds files when watching a folder for changes

I just pushed version 1.2.8429, which should fix this issue. File masks are also now supported in watched folders.

Thank you for the nice comments.I did reproduce the problem you reported. First time I hear about this one, though I must admit I'm aware of another similar bug when using file masks (more a ''not implemented yet'' than a bug). I'll fix both at the same time, for the next release. Can't give you an ETA, but it won't be long.

  • Re: Ability to have options for which application will open a file

Thanks!  ''Verb'' support has been on my TODO list for some time now. I have a few possible designs: ''Verb'' selection option: I'm currently using the default verb (generally ''open''), but I could look at possibles verbs and show them. Would ''Open with'' be included, I don't know. Windows Explorer context menu: I could allow ...

  • Re: SlimLAUNCH should retain ALT+ENTER command, not relearn it

Noted! I did trip on this myself a few times, but it was always my conclusion that the shorter second command was an indication the initial one was too long for nothing. Your example is clear, though. The upcoming version will support adding explicit files one by one, and forcing them a specific command. But for matched files from a monitored ...

  • Re: Lots of praise, one question

The way you would like it, the answer is ''no''. Currently, the only way to create a magic word is via slimLAUNCH and Alt-Enter. It wouldn't be difficult for me to add such an option. The only problem I see is that a slimLAUNCH hotkey is bound to its sources, a list of monitored paths. These paths can be a single filename. This means I could add a ...

  • Re: Questions and suggestions

kalons:I still don't get how you actually use them.  Can FileSystem be used to quickly browse folders/files?  Can Passwords be used to quickly fill several fields on a web form? Here is how I personally use them each day. I have added a few folders to watch to the default Win-Z slimLAUNCH hotkey, as you can see here. I use Win-Z only ...

  • Re: Questions and suggestions

Thank you for the great comments! slimSIZE: Minimize/maximize/restore operations aren't supported, but could easily be implemented. I personally use Alt-Space, then either N, X or R. I try to avoid creating ''yet another shortcut''. The minimum I should add to slimSIZE is a ''Maximize'' checkbox that overrides the width and height. Currently, ...
