slimKEYS - slimLAUNCH extension
slimLAUNCH lets you search throught item lists by their name, using a very special name matching algorithm.
Not only can you type full words (e.g. typing "outlook" to open Microsoft Office Outlook), but you can also
type the first letter of words in the name you're looking for (e.g. typing "moo" to open Microsoft Office Outlook).
Better, it's not one or the other, it's any way you like. slimLAUNCH will determine the best match for what you
typed by giving scores to consecutive letters, first word letters and uppercase letters.
But what are those item lists? In general, it can be anything, as long as you have a plug-in for that list.
slimKEYS comes with three built-in slimLAUNCH plug-ins.
slimLAUNCH.FileSystem
slimLAUNCH.FileSystem can index and give you access to any file or folder on your computer. You can configure
it to monitor folders of your choice. For example, monitoring the Start Menu folder lets you launch applications.
When either pressing Ctrl-Enter to launch a FileSystem item, or setting a direct slimLAUNCHthis hotkey, you can set
extended options, like using a specific verb (like runas to run as administrator), passing arguments, changing the
working folder, using specific credentials or changing how the initial window appears.
slimLAUNCH.Passwords
slimLAUNCH.Passwords securely manages your password list for you, encrypting it with a main master password using the AES strong encryption. Just
remember that main password, and slimLAUNCH.Passwords takes care of the rest. Search your passwords by title and
category to quickly copy the matching password (or username, or email) to the clipboard.
slimLAUNCH.Delicious
Searching through your del.icio.us bookmarks
by tag and title is very easy with slimLAUNCH.Delicious. It's the fastest way to open web pages you once wanted not
to forget.
On any item accessible with slimLAUNCH, you can also create a direct hotkey that will always launch that item.
Just use slimLAUNCH to search for that item, then press Ctrl-T instead of Enter to create your new hotkey, as shown above.
You can also add new slimLAUNCHthis hotkeys manually via the slimKEYS main window.
