slimPASSWORDS - Step by step example
When you first start slimPASSWORDS, it asks you to load or create a Password Store file. This is a .skps file compatible
with the slimLAUNCH.Passwords
extension for slimKEYS. Enter the password file path (or browse for it), type the main password, and press Load to decrypt
and load the password file. You can also press Enter on the keyboard.
Once loaded, the password entries are accessible using the same name matching algorithm available with
slimKEYS. If you're used to typing « h:twit » in slimKEYS, you can enter the same
search query in slimPASSWORDS. By default, the search list updates itself after entering at least 3 chars.
This can be changed in the options. Password entry names are made of « category : title ». You can use that colon (:)
in your searches to narrow in on specific categories.
Click on the password entry you want details of, and you will have access to the username, email, password,
web address and notes. By default, the password is not shown. Click the « Show password » box to display it.
You can click any button to copy that information in the clipboard. You can also open a floating window by clicking
the arrow button. This will minimize slimPASSWORDS, leaving you with a small topmost information window.
The password is now visible, so be careful! You can click any field on the popup to copy that info in the clipboard.
You may already know that most Windows Mobile applications prevent you from pasting something in a password field.
That's why the password is also displayed, so you can easily type it back. If you click anywhere on the popup, you
can also press the up or down navigation controls to move that popup.
You can also add or edit password entries. Clicking the exclamation mark will generate a new password, based on your
password generation settings (see the Options).
